You Season 3, episode 3 recap

As Natalie gets officially declared as missing, there’s speculation as to whether she did a runner, whilst news channel vans park outside Matthew’s house. It drives Love insane. Whereas, on the other hand, Joe remains quite calm. With Matthew acting very strange towards, Joe believes there is even less to be worried about.

Sherry parades herself in front of the media with claims that she was one of Natalie’s closest friends before revealing that Love was one of the last people to see Natalie alive. When the police question Joe, they have CCTV footage of Natalie speaking to Joe whilst he is in his car. To divert attention away, Joe says that Natalie stumbled on him masturbating.

Theo visits Love in the bakery and flirts with her until Love receives a call to say that Henry is sick. With Love in a rush to get to the hospital, Theo offers to keep an eye on the bakery for her. Unaware of the crisis, Joe speculates whether Matthew has more cameras in his house; and may actually be building a case against Joe. But nothing can prepare Joe for the feeling of fear when he and Love learn that Henry has measles.

Through Henry’s illness, Love has to call everyone who was in contact with Henry. Sherry offers to make the calls for Love, but Love maintains that she wants to do it herself. Dottie, on the other hand, is more concerned with the vineyard that she plans to buy.

As Joe still has one of Natalie’s scarves, he plans to use it to set up Matthew. But in the process, he starts to become ill. Joe, too, has measles. After he goes insane, Joe remembers a time from his childhood where he had no vaccinations, just as Henry dies. Joe then wakes up to Matthew, who tells him to calm down. It was all a fever dream!

After Matthew found Joe in his backyard, Matthew brought him inside, where is when Joe gets along with Matthew. Making the decision not to frame an innocent man (Dr. Nicky would be furious), Joe burns the scarf. After which, Joe realizes that Matthew was acting strange as the situation is too hard for him. Joe puts it best; “It’s not always the husband, and we’re not going down for it”. After detective Falco (Romy Rosemont) learns that Natalie’s ring has been found, Joe brings Matthew a gift, only to have the door slammed in his face.

The ending

“Missing White Woman Syndrome” ends with Gil (Mackenzie Astin) visiting Love at the bakery. He comes to apologize. He reveals that it was his daughters that had measles first and he hopes Love won’t hold it against his family. “The most important thing is that everyone is better”, Gil says. What do you think; will Love let the incident go? Of course not. She wacks him over the head with a rolling pin.
