Starting from this week, I will be doing a weekly diary entry about me and the podcast team. The main purpose of this is to keep you up to date with any new developments and to give you ideas of what is going to happen in our schedule. Sometimes I might just post random funny stuff. Let’s see, shall we?
So, as you may or may not be aware, we used to be called The FilmInk Film Thoughts Podcast, but one fateful night myself and the team had a meeting about how to move the brand forward, which led to us all fretting about another podcast with an extraordinarily similar title. After more fretting, we realised they were a big deal in Australia and had an impressionable website, so we took the big decision to re-brand. So now we are Ready, Steady, Cut!
That’s a long story made short, eh?.
Anyway, things escalated really quickly soon after we thought of a name; new logo, new header, new twitter, new website, new Facebook page, re-titling all episodes, and Jonathon had the painful task of moving all of his reviews from one website to another. Weirdly enough the most painful part of this journey was Jonathon having to place a header in a suitable website theme, which was amusing but frustrating at the same time. Other tasks included following a ton of people and creating a new introduction track for the podcast.
By the time we made it to the weekend we were all pretty exhausted (we have other commitments as well) but we still made it in time to record episode 26 with the new name. Success!
To complete my first diary entry I’d just like to announce that this week we are recording a podcast mini-series consisting of three episodes about Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy. We figured that given all the poor DC films we’ve been forced to endure lately, now was as good a time as any.
If you’d like more glimpses behind the curtain, keep an eye out every Sunday for the latest of these diary entries. In the meantime, you can find our upcoming episodes on the “Podcast” page, and forthcoming reviews by clicking these words.
