Review Series – DC Animated Originals
As the DC Cinematic Universe continues to shoot itself in the c**k, the thought of the brand’s most iconic heroes and heroines is starting to leave a sour taste in the mouths of the moviegoing public. But not to worry. DC have an animated universe, too – kind of. That’s where they keep all of their good stuff. And some not-so-good stuff. And, I suppose, some really strange curiosities that you’ll never, ever see in live-action. It’s a much more interesting library than the slop they’re currently throwing at the big-screen, anyway. So, our resident idiot critic, Jonathon, is going to be taking a look at the entire catalogue. Thank him later.
In all seriousness, it’s worth remembering that there’s a lot more to DC, their characters and their output than dreary Zack Snyder movies. That’s what this series is about: Shining a light on all the interesting stuff, and leaving the big fuckups to stew unexamined. Anyway, let’s get on with it. Updates are every Tuesday.
