And so, winter comes to an end. The cold and ruthless wrath of withered branches and frost-laden leaves disappears as life returns to the ground and everything atop it. And with that, here’s my March submission for the Huddersfield Examiner’s 2018 calendar competition.
This one is titled Reflecting on the view. As much as I love the death and decay of the winter months, it felt refreshing and welcoming to see the green returning to the trees; though I enjoyed the odd tree here and there still brown from the brute cold of the previous season.
I particularly enjoyed the reflection the central duck pond provided, and so wanted to capture both this as well as the general scenery in equal measure. The reflection is almost a homage to, or even a passing of the torch, from winter to spring.
