Manpreet’s JULY submission made it into the final 5, and is available to vote for to be featured in the Examiner 2018 calendar competition. Feel free to vote for ‘Flowers’ by Manpreet Singh here.

We’re in the midst of everyone’s favourite season. Except for mine, of course; though I have grown to love summer over time, my previous dislike for it being a story for another time. Whilst I would consider my previous June submission a summer photo, it was technically a late-Spring shot – and so, here we are.

As much as I love the colder months, one of the things I especially miss are the bright and beautiful colours. Sure, autumn and spring are full of a beautiful range of hues, but they’re bereft of the essence of life and beaming colours. The warmer colours return and everything which once wasn’t once again is.

A Bed of Red – though plainly titled as Flowers on the Examiner website, for reasons unbeknown to me – highlights some of the colours brought out through the help of the sun’s natural light – and whilst the red petals are clearly the subject of the photo, the array of colours surrounding them lend their aesthetic presence. A colour coordinated clash of a season.

Skipped a few posts, have we? Not a problem:

January          April

February        May

March            June
