Whether you love or hate Valentine’s Day, there is nothing wrong with a night in with a good old rom-com. To celebrate the most romantic time of the year, we have compiled a list of the Top 20 Romantic Comedies.
My name is Tyler, and I love romantic comedies. I’ve spent awhile talking about thinking about them, defending some and critiquing others. To that end, I’ve put together a Top 20 Romantic Comedies list.
Many people enjoy them because they’re easy, fun, funny, and they make you feel good. Me too. I love a good rom-com that transports me, that makes me think just a bit, that’s more than just two pretty people in tight swimwear (I’m looking at you, Fool’s Gold), and that wears its heart on its sleeve.
Right away I’ll tell you that you will disagree with me. It’s going to happen. As with any list of top films, this is opinion-based. I’ve not seen every romantic-comedy ever made, but I’ve seen a good number of them. I’ll explain and justify myself, but in the end, these films especially demand an X-factor beyond the technical aspects. Some of these films are on the list because of the place in life I was in when I saw them, and some of them pull at my own particular heartstrings.
