Netflix have infiltrated the documentary market and produced some absolute whoppers recently. Later this month they will be adding another eye-opener that has already premiered at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival. So here is The Bleeding Edge trailer. Let’s hope their run continues as the streaming giant will be eager to land another Oscar winning feature.  I am really looking forward to this.

Premise and Release Date

The Bleeding Edge will detail the flaws of the healthcare system in America; a country that has the most technologically advanced health care system in the world, yet medical interventions have become the third leading cause of death, and the overwhelming majority of high-risk implanted devices never require a single clinical trial. The documentary will weave emotional stories together to showcase victims of a money hungry industry.

The Bleeding Edge is created by Academy Nominated filmmakers Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering (The Invisible War, The Hunting Ground)

The Netflix documentary will be released on July 27, 2018, globally.

The Bleeding Edge trailer reaction

As someone who lives in the UK, The Bleeding Edge will be a strange documentary. At present, and in case you are not aware, my country proudly holds a free health service called the NHS (National Health Service). I have never had to worry about medical fees, however, our healthcare system is suffering every year due to limited budgets, tight ropes and the lack of investment in technology. The Bleeding Edge, on first impressions, will show how much money is getting pumped into the US healthcare system yet is having adverse effects. It will be interesting to see the devastation that occurs on the opposite side of the scale.

Let me know your thoughts on the trailer. Will you be adding this Netflix documentary to your list on July 27th?
