If you are looking for a story involving a rapper with a last chance, then on August 24, 2018, Netflix will be releasing The After Party.
Here is the first look at The After Party poster:
First Thoughts for Netflix’s the after party
The poster has been designed to include the cameos that will be showing up in the film, surrounding what I can only assume is the main character ready to drop some lyrics. Above the character, it says “Kyle”, so an early assumption would be that this is the lead character’s name. Personally, I like the poster; it is simple.
I am a sucker for rap stories, though I would argue that we have never really been treated to a decent feature film since 8 Mile. However, Straight Outta Compton made a good account of itself.
Netflix’s The After Party is about an aspiring rapper who goes viral but for all the wrong reasons. He believes his career is completely dead and reputation shattered. That is until he goes to a savage NYC afterparty. He has one more last chance to make it into the limelight but this time, with good intentions.
The After Party is directed and written by Ian Edelman. Q, Jamie Patricof, Katie McNeill, Douglas Banker, Trevor Engelson, Jake Stein and Heather Parry serve as producers. The cast includes Kyle Harvey, Harrison Holzer, Shelley Hennig, Teyana Taylor, Jordan Rock, Amin Joseph, Andy Buckley and Blair Underwood.
Expect cameos from Wiz Khalifa, French Montana, DJ Khaled, Ski Mask the Slump God, Desiigner, Pusha T, Jadakiss, Tee Grizzley and Young M.A. I don’t know about you but I am expecting some hits from this film. If I am not bopping, I’ll be disappointed.
What are your first thoughts on the premise and the poster for Netflix’s The After Party? Will you be adding this to your list in August?
