Summary

Memories of the Alhambra Episode 13 was more a filler chapter if anything, with the characters smoothing the edges around the story.

This recap of Memories of the Alhambra Season 1, Episode 13, contains spoilers. You can check out our thoughts on the previous episode by clicking these words.

Memories of the Alhambra Episode 13 spends the first 13 minutes rehashing the same story of where it ended last time, with Mr. Cha getting confronted by his son (Park Hoon) in the game. It worked because Mr. Cha now realizes that Yoo Jin-woo (Hyun Bin) has not lost his mind, and there is a fundamental problem with the game.

Also, Jung Hee-joo (Shin-Hye Park) is starting to understand her brother’s game, introduced to Emma who is modeled from her. Yoo Jin-woo has tasked her to try and engage with Emma, believing she may have the answer to the whereabouts of Jung Se-joo (Chan-Yeol Park) because he used to visit the cafe frequently.

But apart from some mentions about restarting the server and more insight to Jung Se-joo’s situation, Memories of the Alhambra Episode 13 felt more of a filler episode than something that offered any real progress. Yoo Jin-woo is convinced that if he gets over level 100, he will be able to get further access into the game.

Memories of the Alhambra episode 13

Jung Hee-joo’s first exposure to the game in a violent sense was a significant moment. She saw the blood on Yoo Jin-woo and was shaken. After 12 episodes of the CEO suffering in the game, the other characters are starting to realize what he has had to go through.

Mr. Cha endured plenty in Episode 13, as he had to confess that the game does have an error and that he’s experiencing the same situation as Yoo Jin-woo. This changes the storyline completely.

As Memories of the Alhambra Episode 13 ends, Jung Hee-joo is getting questioned about Yoo Jin-woo in the background, who quickly legs out of the cafe — the police notice and run after him. Will Yoo Jin-woo have to answer to the investigation looming over him finally? The next episode will reveal that. But as I’ve said previously, this was merely a filler episode, smoothing the events of the previous chapter, if anything.
