Summary

Real progress is made in Memories of the Alhambra Episode 14 as Yoo Jin-woo makes a revealing breakthrough in the game.

This recap of Memories of the Alhambra Season 1, Episode 14, contains spoilers. You can check out our thoughts on the previous episode by clicking these words.

Yoo Jin-woo (Hyun Bin) is in hot water in Memories of the Alhambra Episode 14 as the police decide to tighten their grip on the investigation and chase him through the city. It doesn’t help that Yoo-ra chooses to go ahead with Mr. Cha’s initial plans and lie to the investigators; in a drunken state, she makes a statement that Yoo Jin-woo confessed to killing Cha Hyung-seok (Park Hoon).

So for Yoo Jin-woo, it is now or never for him to get to level 100 and find out where that leads. He runs through the city avoiding the police while at the same time preventing death in the game with minimal ammo. Mr. Cha is frustrated by the events, insisting on keeping the servers open so the ex-CEO can prove that the game needs fixing.

Memories of the Alhambra Episode 14 sees Yoo Jin-woo finally reach that elusive level 100 – the game tells him that now he has achieved such an accolade he has been granted access to heaven by the master. At this stage, we can all assume master is still Jung Se-joo (Chan-Yeol Park). As he traipses through the city, he finally reaches a church, where the hologram guitar player Emma, which is modeled from Jung Hee-joo (Shin-Hye Park), starts speaking to him. He hands him a golden key and congratulates him for completing his quest.

Memories of the alhambra episode 13 recap

Jung Hee-joo wants to find Yoo Jin-woo as she is worried about the police chase. She gets familiar with the game, understanding how it works and its complexities, but she fails to find him and ends up retreating home, crying under the bed covers. From this point onwards, nobody knows where Yoo Jin-woo is, and his company decides to shut down the servers again.

I was fearing that Memories of the Alhambra Episode 14 was going to end with no real plot progression, but it finishes with a big reveal. Jung Hee-joo is found outside her house randomly, meaning whatever Yoo Jin-woo did worked. What happens now? Well, I’m not sure, but next week Yoo Jin-woo feels the story has one last thing left to clear; is it finally fixing the game? Or clearing his name of murder? We will find out I am sure.
