Jimmy Carr: The Best of Ultimate Gold Greatest Hits reminds us all why we enjoy the comedian so much, as he delivers his best jokes from his politically incorrect career.

Jimmy Carr is back to offer another exclusive Netflix stand-up, but not in the way you expected it. The politically incorrect comedian has decided to collate all his best jokes together from his celebrated stand-up career and delivers them to an all-embracing crowd. If you are a Jimmy Carr fan, Jimmy Carr: The Best of Ultimate Gold Greatest Hits will undoubtedly stir up that nostalgia and amuse you for the full hour. The 8 Out Of 10 Cats host proves that his form is well and truly secure, hammering joke after joke in an acceptable 1-hour stand-up.

I’ll admit, Jimmy isn’t my first go-to when I am eager to tuck into a stand-up. Not because I do not think he is funny, but because his one-liners after a while begin to stagnate. I much prefer a comedian that builds a story with the ultimate punch line, or an anticipated ending. But there is no denying that with his TV work and stand-ups, Jimmy Carr is the best in the business for one-liners, and The Best of Ultimate Gold Greatest Hits proves he should never change. As usual, he spits out the plentiful of jokes at a fast rate, and eventually slows down on one of them, giving sentences a double meaning, allowing the audience to let it sink in. Don’t change, Jimmy.

The Best of Ultimate Gold Greatest Hits proves why the cynical and sarcastic comedian gains fans, reminding us of his best wincing jokes to the audience. And the beauty of it is that he dutifully reminds us that he does not give a ****, as he lays into an audience member’s mother at different intervals. I do not believe that a comedian has ever rehashed all his old famous jokes before and wrapped them up into a feature, but it’s a great idea. I think it works for Jimmy Carr’s comedy as his routine is a bible of jokes, rather than different enticing stories. I’m not sure if every comedian could replicate this idea.

If you are a Jimmy Carr fan, you will love The Best of Ultimate Gold Greatest Hits, and if you are not, you will still enjoy and appreciate the feature.
