Summary

Chambers Episode 10, “The Crystal Organ”, is not an original ending to this type of material, but it was still an elegant closure to the series.

The themes in Chambers Episode 10, “The Crystal Organ”, are familiar, but it was still worth the wait. I think the issue with the Netflix series is that it’s too many episodes for what it is worth, but you can tell they wanted to hold the best moments right until the last chapter. Following on from the previous chapter, Yvonne (Kyanna Simone Simpson) and TJ Griffin Powell-Arcand) have Becky (Lilliya Scarlett Reid) tied up, and head to The Annex Foundation. Their objective is to release Becky so Sasha (Sivan Alyra Rose) can be saved. They try using the crystals to start a ritual. Meanwhile, Elliot (Nicholas Galitzine) is still trapped by the people who run The Annex Foundation.

Becky starts having a small seizure, moving Episode 10 into a new realm. Sasha and Becky become trapped in a redecorated version of Frank’s (Marcus LaVoi) house, which Becky calls their heart, and handcuffs Sasha so she cannot escape. Becky is determined that Sasha should kill herself; she needs to die. To drive Sasha to emotional turmoil, she plays old video footage of her mother abandoning her.

Eventually, the two women start reminiscing in “The Crystal Organ”, almost like their connection is bringing them closer together. Becky loses her patience and asks Sasha to wake up smart, and sleep on it. Meanwhile, Yvonne and TJ try to talk to Sasha, and eventually, it works, releasing her from the handcuffs. Sasha handcuffs Becky to her bed, and after much deliberation and hesitation, she puts a pillow over her to stop her from breathing; Sasha wakes up in her pure physical form – she’s free.

Chambers Episode 10 Crystal Organ Recap

I honestly thought after those crucial moments that Episode 10 would close out the series, but it fast forwards to a week later, with Sasha getting Becky tattooed on her chest to remember her. She also meets Frank in prison, who has been well and truly set up for the murder of Jones. Sasha always gets back with TJ, and everything looks reasonably rosy for the character.

But everything takes a dark turn in Chambers. Elliot wakes up The Annex Foundation to learn that Marnie (Sarah Mezzanotte) is now his transitional partner. He becomes frustrated, wondering where Sasha and Ben are, and then he finds out that his mother Nancy (Uma Thurman) has become a patient.

I saw the ending coming because it was referenced at the start of Episode 10; there is a knock on the door at Sasha’s house, and there stands Ruth, with a large crowd of people behind her. She explains that they’ve all come to meet Lilith the demon and that Sasha has become her vessel. She speaks of her being able to heal the world with her powers, and as she says that, Sasha’s scars begin to disappear. Sasha refuses to join the large, eager and creepy group of people and starts using her newfound powers to force some of them to collapse. She looks at Ruth, and her eyes glaze over, entirely black. Chambers Season 1 ends with Lilith reborn.
