Dating is hard. It’s even harder if you are socially anxious like the lead character Annie (Kate Micucci) in Episode 4, “Yes”. Easy Season 3 reintroduces this adorable person, and the major problem she is facing is that she wants a house, a husband and kids; time is running out for the 38-year-old.

Annie decides that she is going to say yes to every man who asks her out on a date for at least a month – she believes her chances will increase the more men she meets, even if she is not attracted to them at first. I found this to be a flawed, panicky solution, but if your persona depends on a life partner, I can imagine dating at this age to be tough.

Episode 4, “Yes” is a simply-made chapter in Season 3, showing how bizarre, straightforward and random dating can be when you do it frequently. Annie’s personality draws you in, keeping you peculiar, wondering what is going to happen next.

“Yes” is very predictable; you know the bystander, a colleague at work called Lucas is going to be the man that eventually secures a date with her. Episode 4 agrees with the notion that sometimes looking too hard means you do not know what’s right in front of you. For Annie, that is Lucas, and the second half of “Yes” shows their friendship quickly blossoming into romance.

There are other themes to be enjoyed in “Yes”, like the superficiality of dating, and how cut-throat dating can be in your late 30s. I have no desire to be in a long-term relationship, but I hope I don’t change my mind at 38, because this s**t looks hard.
