“Lost As Eden” sees our leading character McKenna (Liana Liberato) suffering. Following on from season 1, the teenager now has the chrysalis attached to her. She’s concerned and conflicted by her experiences, even paying Violet (Haley Ramm), who is now curse-free. a visit in the correctional institute.
Light as a Feather season 2 sees the game reset, but this time with a sympathetic character that means no harm to anyone. Violet was consumed and aggressive with the chrysalis, eager to get rid of it so she can be free. McKenna is still affected by the deaths of her friends; episode 1, “Lost As Eden” sees the character momentarily visiting a counselling session to discuss her feelings, but due to feeling eery, she decides that she cannot be fixed by therapy because of the chrysalis and quits.
Alex (Brianne Tju) feels suffocated by her sister in “Lost As Eden”, who is insensitively asking questions about Violet, not understanding the sadness it has on her sister. Her story is shortlived in episode 1 however, as McKenna starts having visions, and she soon starts panicking to her experiences. She hugs a friend at a party, and he becomes momentarily hurt by touching her back; when she decides to hook up with her boyfriend, he begins to look like something else, and she freaks out and collapses in the middle of the road.
Light as a Feather season 2, episode 1, “Lost As Eden” sees McKenna seeking an unlikely ally, especially after her mother conveniently electrocuted in their home; nothing is a coincidence anymore. That ally is Violet, and with McKenna eager not to become like her imprisoned enemy, she realizes that she needs her if she’s ever to defeat the chrysalis. Light as a Feather season 2, episode 1 is a role reversal.
