McKenna’s (Liana Liberato) life is falling apart entirely in episode 4, “Sick As a Dog”. Light as a Feather season 2 has dumbed down on Violet’s (Haley Ramm) angle and observes a new habitat for the chrysalis – a kinder, genuine person. Which makes the story more unfortunate, as her acquaintances believe she’s pushing them away on purpose.

“Sick As a Dog” carries on from the aftermath of the previous episode, where an unfortunate death occurred during community service. She approaches a girl called Nadia who was with her the night before, and apparently, she played the game, predicting each participant’s death, which is causing the spur of events. Meanwhile, Alex (Brianne Tju) believes Violet is causing this all over again and confronts her about it, but Violet acts like she knows nothing, revealing that she no longer has the chrysalis on her back.

Trey has well and truly cut ties with McKenna at this point in “Sick As a Dog”, joining his ex Sammy with her band, performing songs. McKenna tries confronting Trey about his actions, but he throws it back in her face, making it common knowledge that he knows that McKenna kissed another man the night before. Of course, we know McKenna remembers nothing about this, as she continues to enter into a dream-like state. It seems if you resist the chrysalis, it puts you under, whereas Violet seemed to embrace it to get rid of it.

Episode 4, “Sick As a Dog” ends in dangerous circumstances for McKenna as she witnesses Trey kiss his ex, and she goes home to break down, calling Violet and revealing her world spiraling out of control. She hears a knock on the door – it’s Alex, and she finally reveals the truth about the chrysalis on her back. This was a far better episode as we reach the halfway point, but Light as a Feather season 2 still needs to kick in.
