Summary

Light as a Feather Season 2, Episode 7, “Guilty As Sin” has no desire to make the story impactful for the audience, even halfway through the series.

So it turns out it was a deceased body at the end of the last episode, stored away by Violet. The person touched the chrysalis and according to Violet (Haley Ramm) starved to death. The group learn that McKenna (Liana Liberato) played the game with Isaac, so it’s panic stations all around in episode 7 over what to do next.

And that’s the issue with Light as a Feather season 2. The writing, the flow, the story does not try to drive the plot device to the audience at all. Everything is dragged out, presumably for the season finale. None of the characters know what to do, and it feels like each scene is a filler to reach a conclusion before the credits. It’s very much lazy writing or void of ideas and “Guilty As Sin” reveals more cracks. It’s a shame because season 1 was not perfect, but it had promise. Maybe it should have been kept to a 1-season concept.

Moving on, eventually, the group decide it will be a good idea for McKenna to by hypnotised by Sammi’s mother to see if she can remember what happened. She does get a brief flashback, but then episode 7 swiftly moves to Violet and Alex (Brianne Tju) experiencing a freak car accident; for a few seconds it looks like Violet is dead, but then her neck cracks back into place, and she saves Alex from choking to death from the seat belt. It appears Violet is still cursed.

With Trey sweating and waiting for his two love birds to return with good news, only McKenna returns. She did act strange when she left the hypnotism, almost like she was slightly tranced. She speaks like she is not McKenna, and Trey worriedly asks where Sammi is. Well, Sammi is dead, and in an icebox like the premonitions foretold. I mean, how predictable that McKenna was left alone with Sammi, and then the game comes to fruition. I’m guessing in the next episode Isaac will die by a swarm of bees, but surely someone is going to be saved? Light as a Feather season 2, episode 7, “Guilty As Sin” was a tiresome chapter
