Still short on proper answers and increasingly fragile under close scrutiny, “The Fall” continues to fumble along.

Proving itself consistently willing to introduce even more mysteries, The Stranded Episode 4 begins with newly-conscious Professor Lin (Sinjai Plengpanich) acting in a bizarre manner, seemingly incapable of giving a straight answer to any of May’s (Chayanit Chansangavej) queries regarding her whereabouts and such. She’s unmoved by the admission of Ice (Kittisak Patomburana) after his last-minute seizure in the previous episode. But she’s clearly affected somewhat by Kraam’s (Papangkorn Lerkchaleampote) sketches of his dreams.
Arisa (Chaleeda Gilbert) is still alone in the jungle in “The Fall”, and there she discovers a bizarre girl who leads her deeper. Eventually, she’s spray-painted, taunted, and trapped in a ravine.
Ice is given some flashback treatment, his past brought into starker belief by an exorcism performed by Nahm (Chanya McClory) that Ice himself demanded. Further jaunts into the past concern Jack (Siwat Jumlongkul) and Krit (Tanapon Sukhumpantanasan).
On the present-day relationship front, May and Kraam meet up by the shore and, entranced by fireflies, sleep together. Professor Lin, meanwhile, continues to behave oddly, though The Stranded Season 1, Episode 4 hardly seems in a rush to explain why. Or, for that matter, to explain anything at all.
Luckily, there are only seven episodes in this first season, which puts us over the halfway point. Unless The Stranded is content to resolve nothing at all in the hopes of a second season, this upcoming stretch of the show is the one that should, theoretically, start to yield answers. Let’s hope so, anyway.
