Brews Brothers season 1, episode 2, “Recreate the Opus” is a genuinely good continuation of the comedy as the brothers are desperate to save the business.
This recap of Netflix series Brews Brothers season 1, episode 2, “Recreate the Opus” contains significant spoilers.
Remember in the last episode when it was established that Wilhelm is a bad businessman? Well, it is confirmed in Episode 2, “Recreate the Opus”. When he opened his brewery, he created a Founders Circle; a few customers who can come into his brewery every single day and drink for free.
Other issues in Episode 2 is that they need to recreate Adam’s urine so that the beer that they created in the last episode tastes the same. Most of the first half of the episode sees Adam recreating what he ate, and visiting the same food truck to have the same lunch. We are treated to some flashbacks where Adam used to urinate on Wilhelm’s bedsheets to make him think that he peed the bed. Yes, the gags are funny, but it’s all good fun.
Adam has also made himself into a private investigator in Brews Brothers season 1, episode 2, “Recreate the Opus”. Adam believes something is off about Sarah and is desperate to understand her past, being incredibly invasive.
But Sarah seems to be the only wise one in the group, which makes the entire dynamic strange — she tells Wilhelm that he needs to stop giving out free beer to the extended Founders Circle, which doesn’t go down well with a group of workers nearby who take it personally. Wilhelm decides to buy a windscreen wiper off them for the front window of his brewery, for no reason whatsoever — he stops giving out free beer but then spends $500 on their business. The guy just likes losing money.
Anyway, it turns out as we approach the end of Episode 2 that the distributor does not want the urine-laced beer and opts for another ale instead and puts in another big order, thus saving the business, but Adam is still irritated that his urine-laced beer was not ordered.
Brews Brothers season 1, episode 2, “Recreate the Opus” ends with Wilhelm learning that Sarah is a minor; at 18 years old she should not be working at the brewery. He fires her, but she blackmails him, saying she will report Wilhelm if she doesn’t keep her job and get a pay rise. The friend who revealed she is a wrestler at a nearby college also asks to be compensated.
Wilhelm is the worst business owner ever.
