How does BNA: Brand New Animal season 1, episode 12, “Anima-City” open?

Episode 12 begins with Shirou laying down Michiru and she’s presumed dead. Shirou goes back to his original form, clearly upset. Michiru wakes up. The mayor theorizes that Shirou returned back to normal due to Michiru’s blood. If they head to the Medi-Cen they can create a serum for the city. Nazuna plans to calm down the city and reduce stress levels while the war continues.

8 hours

The mayor says she needs 8 hours to make the serum but that isn’t enough time so Shirou wants to stop Alan. Michiru joins him. Boris tries begging Nazuna to leave with him but she rejects him and he morphs into a bigger being.

Stopping Alan

When Shirou and Michiru reach the Medi-Cen, Alan has his plans in place to distribute the vaccine. Michiru explains how her blood has been used as a serum. Alan activates the vaccines on them both but they try to fight him.

Alan’s true form

As Shirou fights Alan he realizes he is a beastman. The family has inhibited their true selves for years — he’s a pure-blooded breed and his beastman form has multiple heads; he’s also immortal. Alan destroys Shirou and then walks off. Meanwhile, Michiru is walking around the city trying to stop the vaccines. Nazuna and the bears arrive to help. They realize that howls divert the rampant beastmen’s attention.
