Episode 2 continues with Michiru continuing to explain to the wolf that she used to be human and she follows him. The wolf switches to his human form and he’s a young male. Everyone stays in their human form in Anima-City.
I’m not a beastman
The wolf takes Michiru to the chairman of beastmen and he confirms she’s a beastman but she insists she used to be a human and calls “beastmen” a disease. They give her a citizenship form. We learn that the wolf is called Shirou and he’s a social worker. Michiru is given a place to stay, which shows how accepting the community is.
Getting her wallet back
The next day, Shirou takes Michiru to the City Hall. The wolf leaves her in the queue. Meanwhile, the mayor of the city thanks Shirou for helping with the rogue beastmen. Suddenly, Michiru finds the man that pickpocketed her and chases after him. Marie the mink who helped Michiru with the boat to Anima-City distracts her and recommends she goes to Rabbit Town and speak to Grand Grandma — she’s met with what looks like the Mafia. Michiru asks if they have her stolen wallet which has her student ID inside.
Bizarrely at the halfway point of BNA: Brand New Animal season 1, episode 2, “Rabbit Town”, Grand Grandma asks Michiru to help the neglected beastmen children to read and write and if she does, they will give her the wallet back. Michiru agrees to the deal. The children talk about the Silver Wolf, the God of beastmen. Michiru wonders if they are talking about Shirou.
How does BNA: Brand New Animal season 1, episode 2, “Rabbit Town” end?
Gangster Flip visits Grand Grandma about the “new stuff” she has and that she has to start trafficking — she’s on about the children Michiru is teaching. Michiru tries helping them escape. She manages to free them and they run but they are soon stopped. One of Great Grandma’s people sleep-chokes Michiru. Shirou arrives and saves Michuri and the children. Great Grandma throws Michiru her wallet. Michiru is angry at Shirou for not helping sooner but he claimed he needed evidence of trafficking first. Michiru throws her student ID at him which proves she was human. Episode 2 sees Mirichu stubbornly not conforming to the way of beastmen life as she wants to return to being human.
