How does BNA: Brand New Animal season 1, episode 4, “Dolphin Daydream” open?
Episode 4 starts with Michiru trying to turn back into human form but she keeps failing. The mayor then gives her beastmen residence and a health insurance card. The Mayor also states that humans turning into a beastman is incomprehensible and that she will look into it.
You’ve drawn Shirou’s attention
Meanwhile, Flip is torturing Kusabi for getting Shirou’s attention. Shirou turns up and faces him. Flip throws Kusabi into the sea.
Nina wants to know about the human world
Michiru manages to get special SIM cards to access the human internet and she sees a girl from Facelook in the city. She is then captured and asked why she got close to the daughter of The Family. Michiru states she saw the young girl on Facelook. The girl is called Nina and she’s ecstatic to meet Michiru. Nina wants to know everything about the human world. Suddenly Michiru turns back into a human and she’s over the moon.
Going back to the human city
At the halfway point of BNA: Brand New Animal season 1, episode 4, “Dolphin Daydream” Nina wants to go to the human city with Michiru for a small while to experience it. They go to an aquarium. While at a party, Nina morphs into a dolphin and everyone celebrates with her.
The mayor tells Shirou that Michiru and Nina have gone to the mainland and the Family (the gang) cannot find out. Shirou vows to bring them back. Meanwhile, Nina doesn’t want to leave despite Michiru telling her that they must go back. Shirou rings Michiru and tells her to bring back Flip’s daughter immediately.
How does BNA: Brand New Animal season 1, episode 4, “Dolphin Daydream” end?
One of the humans puts Nina in a tank, believing she needs water. To help her, Michiru forms into a beastman to save her from drowning. On the way back to Anima-City, Nina tells Michiru that she had a great time. Michiru tells Shirou she’s not ready to return to the mainland yet and she wants to learn more about the beastmen. On Facelook, Michiru has birthday wishes from her mother and suddenly she feels sad. Episode 4 sees the lead character briefly revisit her previous life and she has a revelation.
