We’re almost there! The Twelve episode 9, “Ulrich en Elisabeth”, opens on January 1, 2000, with Stefaan discovering Britt’s positive pregnancy test. He confronts her about this, and the affair, which Frie overhears, as we return once again to the present day with things suitably heated up.

Personal matters among the jury are dealt with. Mike still refuses to talk to Delphine. Noel’s addictions are questioned. Yuri reveals to Bjorn his confession. Marc reveals the video of Stefaan’s left hand usage and it’s agreed that the matter should be raised in court. Marc’s affair with Inge is also leaked to the press – as a result, Inge is forced to withdraw. There’s a lot going on in this penultimate episode.

Next up: The professor who was having an affair with Britt. He was the father of Britt’s baby, which isn’t news to the audience but is to the jury. As they process the information, it’s decided that something is up with Stefaan, who is called back to the witness stand when his alibi is chewed up by a cinema employee. He’s forced to change his statement, and then the video of him using his left hand throws him for a loop.

With these major revelations, we also see some turning points in some of the jurors’ personal subplots. Holly admits to Yuri that she was present for and overheard her parents’ murders. And Delphine finally confronts Mike, although it doesn’t go well for her – we close out with her being pinned against a wall by him, which seems a fine place to leave the penultimate episode. There was all sorts going on in The Twelve episode 9, and with Stefaan looking more and more guilty, are we due another twist in the tale? One can certainly hope so.
