The East’s biggest contestant, more country strength, and a pro-wrestler in attendance — what more could you want?

And we’re back in the East for another round of powerhouse athletics with four eager new competitors, and two dangerous Titans sitting atop the hill waiting for them. Or the mountain, I guess, but let’s not quibble about specifics.
First up, Michelle Lewis, a real estate agent from a military family who was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army; for her, competing and fitness allowed her to regain some of the intensity she was missing after being overseas. She’s taking on Dasha Kuret, a pro-wrestler formerly of the WWE whose career was derailed by a ruptured Achilles tendon. Now she’s the AEW Spanish announcer.
Current Titan Haley Johnson watches on as these two square off for Launch Pad. Michelle mightily struggles here and gets hammered 4-0.
Next up in The Titan Games season 2, episode 9: The men. Andrew Hanus is an Air Force veteran who tragically lost his mother to breast cancer; he breaks down while recounting the story. He’s taking on Ryan Steenberg, a professional golfer. Their first game is Chain Linked. Andrew is much better suited to it and takes an early lead. Ryan takes a big tumble but it’s academic at that point anyway. Andrew leads 1-0 after the first round.
Kick Out is the next game. This is much more in Ryan’s wheelhouse, and he drives one of the pistons all the way through in one kick — never seen that before. Both end up on the final piston at the same time, Andrew with a notable power disadvantage. But Ryan falls! He doesn’t have the grip strength! Andrew’s technique, though, is absolutely appalling, giving Ryan the opportunity to tie things up.
Michelle and Dasha are back up. The game is Over the Edge. It’s a competitive round, but Dasha is able to win again. She’s going to Mount Olympus to take on Haley.
Tie-breaker time! The game is the Herculean Pull. They both make it to the golden pole at the same time, and things are neck and neck. Ryan has the power, but Andrew falls. Then Ryan falls! He’s fallen in every single round at this point — dude needs to work on his grip strength. But Andrew falls again! Ryan takes the victory. Both men collapse in exhaustion.
Dasha takes on Haley on Mount Olympus. Dasha does not give a good account of herself here, immediately falling behind — and badly, at that. One of the worst Mount Olympus outings of the season by far. Haley wins by a mile and retains the title.
To close out The Titan Games season 2, episode 9, Ryan takes on country strong Will Sutton. Ryan’s done at basically the first obstacle — he pops his bicep. Will runs the course to completion, and if the opening moments were anything to go by he’d probably have won anyway.
Nothing changes in this installment, as the same two Titans move onto the next round.
