Our Top DC Picks For September 2020 Joker War!

Our top DC picks for September 2020 is our monthly preview series, in which we highlight some of the more noteworthy titles coming from DC in the near future. You can check out the last of those previews by clicking these words.

Here’s a quick rundown of the DC comics that you might want to read in September.

Event wise, you can keep a lookout for the continuing story of DCeased: Dead Planet, by Tom Taylor, that has issue #3 released on September 1st. This is a follow up to the successful mini-series from last year, that sees DC icons as zombies.

There’s also a selection of Death Metal titles from Scot Snyder including Trinity Crisis on Sep 8th, Speed Metal on Sep 22nd, and Multiverse’s End on Sep 29th.

Perhaps DC’s most anticipated event is the Joker War and Batman: Three Jokers. You can grab Joker War Zone #1 on Sep 29th and Three Jokers issue #2 hits the stands on the same date.

Batman #98 continues a strong run, with its Joker War crossovers, issue #98 is out Sep 1st, but my pick for this month is a new mini-series, Hellblazer Rise and Fall issue #1. The regular title also continues with issue #10 released on Sep 29th.

Other DC titles include new Batman title The Batman Adventures that is a continuation of the timeline from The Animated series, and issue #4 is out on Sep 1st.

Detective Comics #1027 has multiple variant covers that you might want to have a look at on Sep 15th, and Green Lantern Season 2 by Grant Morrison hits issue #7 on Sep 8th.

There are still a few maxi-series’ approaching the end of their runs: look for Strange Adventures #5, The Batman’s Grave #10, and Metal Men #10.

As far as I can see, there are 43 titles coming from DC in September, two original graphic novels, and ten collected editions.
