The opening of The New Legends of Monkey season 2, episode 3, “Village of Lost Children”

Tripitaka keeps using the Scroll of Knowledge to get to their next location. The group reaches a small village that stinks of fish and has plenty of flies buzzing around. The Demon Council continues to fret over the Monkey King — Demon Tsumori claims that Monkey King and his companions will not leave Rivertown until they know the secrets of the scrolls. The demon infiltrates Rivertown.

Protecting the village

The next day, the village is alarmed that some children have been kidnapped. Monkey promises to protect the village. He asks Pigsy to dig some trenches outside the village. They then lay down some explosives. Pigsy thinks the explosives in the ground look obvious and suggests a different tactic. These two are like two dumb peas in a pod.

The young boy

In the middle of the night, Tripitaka notices Sandy is looking strange and realizes it’s a doppelganger (it’s Demon Tsumori). She follows her but ends up in a fight with a small boy who has been following them. When they stop fighting, she laughs at the young boy due to his age. He tells Tripitaka to get back to her quest as soon as possible.

Finding the children

Suddenly, the villagers surround Sandy believing she is the demon. Tripitaka tells the group that they are in a trap. Tripitaka shows them the Fangkris that the little boy gave her — it’s forged from the teeth of dragons. She states they need to leave the village but Sandy really wants to find the children and stop the evil. Sandy asks Tripitaka if she’s seen the fishwife.

The ending of The New Legends of Monkey season 2, episode 3, “Village of Lost Children”

Pigsy and Monkey have gotten their land mines confused so they have to run through the perimeter quickly. Suddenly, Demon Tsumori shows up looking like Sandy and asks Tripitaka why Davari was interested in the scroll; Tsumori spits black liquid over her face and runs off with the scrolls. Meanwhile, Monkey and Pigsy find one of the children.

Sandy catches up to the demon who mocks her for wanting to be loved which evidently hurts her — as Sandy throws her weapon at her she disappears. After the demon disappears, Sandy finds more children in the cave. She sings to them to offer reassurance — eventually, the kids tell Sandy that they trust her and ask her to stop singing.

Sandy returns the children to the village and everyone is ecstatic and she’s a hero. Monkey introduces himself to the young boy, now known as Kaedo Zef — he mocks the King, claiming Tripitaka is the leader of the group.
