The Titan Games season 2, episode 12 caps off what has been an exciting and entertaining season with a couple of worthy winners and some last-minute drama.

This recap of The Titan Games season 2, episode 12 contains spoilers. You can check out our thoughts on the previous episode by clicking these words.

Brace yourselves, folks. It’s the finale. Eleven prior weeks of athletic dominance — and, let’s be frank, seriously underwhelming outings for most of the professionals — have led right to this moment, and in compiling all the best of the West, the beasts of the East, and the… Central winners, we have an elite lineup for The Titan Games season 2, episode 12.

Three men and three women, all of whom have reigned atop Mount Olympus, square off for this finale episode. Courtney, Margaux, and Dani — who is basically a pair of giant quadriceps with a human attached — will take each other on, and they’re up first in Hammer Down. Dani leads the way, with Courtney and Margaux close behind. Dani’s up on the golden pole first. She struggles with her technique, though, and we even get the slow-mo “she’s gonna fall!” moment, but she powers through and wins over Margaux by a split second. Courtney, however, will go head to head with Margaux again to determine who’ll take Dani on.

Matt, Noah, and Will tackle Hammer Down next. Matt starts out strong. Noah isn’t far behind, but Will is a no-show. Noah scampers up the golden pole like a monkey but he can’t quite beat Matt to the win. Noah and Will have to decide who’ll challenge Matt on Mount Olympus.

Margaux and Courtney face off on the Herculean Pull. Margaux gets an early lead and almost wins without any resistance, but Courtney catches up at the last minute. It’s a tug of war! Well, a push of war. Margaux is inches away from winning. With a last effort, Courtney falls from the pole and Margaux secures her place on Mount Olympus.

Noah takes on Will in Herculean Pull also. As it turns out, country strong is also country fast. He sees the poles off faster than perhaps anyone ever, yanking the golden pole free before Noah can even get to it. Dwayne Johnson later gets that time checked out — 19 seconds, the fastest ever.

Dani takes on Margaux on Mount Olympus, tonight with a couple of twists — solid walls at the beginning and end of the cage crawl, and the ball and chain starting in a cage. Dani starts off well, but Margaux isn’t too far behind. The walls to the cage crawl pose a problem for both women, but Margaux especially. Dani’s double-thick thighs are ideal for this sort of thing, and she gets so far ahead that her winning is simply a foregone conclusion. It’s painful to watch Margaux ineffectually boot the wall way back on the course — not exactly high drama for the finale.

Hopefully, Matt and Will provide more excitement. It’s close, but Matt starts to take the lead. It becomes pretty sizeable after the cage crawl. But Will’s on his tail. It remains competitive but Matt’s lead just gives him a slight advantage that he doesn’t give up. He wins. Country strength was thwarted at the final hurdle and frankly, I’m disappointed. Will deserved better.

All in all, The Titan Games season 2, episode 12 caps off what has been an exciting and entertaining season with a worthy winner, even if it’s not quite who I was pulling for.
