Summary
A Love So Beautiful episode 20 is a transitional episode, bringing the characters to a new period in their life with weddings afoot and old flames returning.
The last episode tore the viewers’ hearts apart — breaking up Sol-i and Cha Heon was a move that no-one was expecting. Episode 20 begins in July 2019; Sol-i is drawing, and Dae-sung rings her. Meanwhile, Cha Heon is asked to come back to Korea after an impressive time in the states.
Sol-i and Cha Heon bump into each other
Sol-i and Cha Heon’s break-up means that Dae-sung is back in the frame, which means the love triangle returns.
Sol-i tells Dae-sung that she needs to go to the hospital because her father has been hospitalised. At the hospital, Cha Heon sees Sol-i at the reception, and he’s very nervous. When they see each other, they stop — it’s clear they have missed each other very much. Dae-sung then arrives to break up the tension. Sol-i asks Dae-sung if they can go, and she goes to visit her father. Sol-i’s mother recognises Dae-sung from TV.
Cha Heon gives Sol-i a drive home
Jin-hwan and Ha-young bump into Cha Heon in the hospital, and it’s another reunion. Jin-hwan is disappointed that he never called, but he has missed him. After his shift, Cha Heon offers Sol-i a ride home, and she hesitantly accepts. In the car, Sol-i asks to be dropped off at the nearest station. Cha Heon is trying to worm back into Sol-i’s life slowly but in a patient way.
A successful operation
The next day, Sol-i’s father has the operation, and it’s successful. Cha Heon asked Dr Seo to do the surgery for Sol-i’s father. Dr Seo Ji-su reveals that she and Cha Heon became friends in the states, and there’s an awkwardness between Sol-i and Cha Heon. When she walks off, Dr Seo asks Cha Heon if Sol-i is ‘the one”. In private, Dr Seo Ji-su asks Sol-i questions about Cha Heon and wonders why anyone would want to date him because he’s boring. She tells Sol-i that Cha Heon still loves her very much. Phew, that discredits any theory of a love-square emerging.
A reunion meal and drinks
Jin-hwan, Dae-sung, Ha-young and Sol-i catch up for a meal. It’s then revealed that Cha Heon is joining them — Jin-hwan invited him. The rivalry between Cha Heon and Dae-sung has returned as they compete over Sol-i.
The ending
When the night ends, Cha Heon takes Sol-i home. When he drops her off, he asks Sol-i if she regrets her decision and makes it known that he came back for her. As she tries to walk away, Cha Heon grabs her and goes in for the kiss, and she accepts it. We all knew that was coming.
