The last two chapters dug deeper into this world and it looks like Sisyphus: The Myth episode 9 is going to bring Tae-sul and Gang Seo-hae closer while also chasing the elusive villain Signma.
In summary, episode 8 brought the following:
- It introduces the audience to Sigma — how he time travelled to 2001 and manipulated the stock markets with investor Kim Dong-hyeon. He also bribed Kim Hang-yong with medicine to help cure his wife with ALS.
- Tae-sul still wants to find Sigma, linking it closely to his brother, but Gang Seo-hae disagrees with this. The pair have a heated argument, but Tae-sul has an obsessed mind, and he’s eager to find out the truth.
- Tae-sul and Gang Seo-hae speak to Kim Dong-hyeon’s wife and learn about the painting Sigma left for him before her husband died. The painting gives them clues to where Sigma lives, so they check out a building. They end up chasing Sigma, but he gets away, and Gang Seo-hae is hurt in the process.
- While Gang Seo-hae recovers, Tae-sul looks at her memories and realises it’s her birthday.
- Episode 8 then shows the future and how Gang Seo-hae had to infiltrate and escape a hospital to get antibiotics for her father and;
- on her way back home, Gang Seo-hae finds a grave with two skeletons inside — there’s a pink diary nestled on top of the grave — it’s her diary, and it tells her to go to the past with the uploader and save Tae-sul to save the world.

Episode 9 will be released on Netflix on March 17, 2021. The usual time is 13:30 (GMT), but sometimes this varies. We do not anticipate any changes to the schedule yet (sometimes this happens in the K-Drama world).

Based on a sneaky preview at the end of episode 8, the following plot points look to take place in episode 9:
- Tae-sul takes Gang Seo-hae to the amusement park for her birthday — there are many suggestions that these two eventually enjoy a romance. Episode 9 looks to be a pivotal moment in their relationship.
- Gang Seo-hae appears to be captured by the Control Bureau and is getting interrogated.
- Mr Park continues to be interrogated by the Control Bureau.
- We can assume that the future Gang Seo-hae gets the antibiotics back for her father and that he survives.
- Expect more background to how Gang Seo-hae travelled back into the past.
- Will Tae-sul find Sigma in episode 9? The villain appears to be toying with the character based on what we saw in episode 8 — Sigma always appears to be one step ahead.
