Netflix anime series Godzilla Singular Point season 1, episode 13 - Together - the ending explained
3.5

Summary

Plenty happened in the finale of Godzilla Singular Point, but we are now curious as to where this story will lead. Ideally, more action with Godzilla will be preferable because these were the coolest moments when the monster showed itself. It is a Godzilla story after all.

At the start of episode 13, the Catastrophe is closing in — Mei realizes that the Professor was attempting to source a code for the Orthogonal Diagonalizer to prevent the Catastrophe. Pelops II checks it out for them. Pelops II inspects the sunken ship in the system — they ask Pelops II to fix the sunken ship, believing that task might bring the code they need. There are twenty minutes until the Catastrophe. Pelops II suggests going into the past. Suddenly, Salunga ambushes them, meaning Pelops II has to catch up and search in the past. Salunga is attempting to destroy SHIVA, so the Catastrophe comes.

Mei and the others have to run away as Pelops II keeps working. However, Pelops II reveals there is no code to stop the Catastrophe. They suddenly hear the song again that is coming from the Singular Point at irregular intervals. Mei asks Pelops II to check out the song. However, the AI disappears and is left on the sunken ship on its own, with no way of sending the answer even if they had it.

But then Pelops II hears the song and finds the professor. Pelops II believes they have the answer, but then there’s an explosion. Before the explosion, Pelops II found a protocol to make Jet Jaguar invincible.

Meanwhile, the Otaki crew move forward for their final fight against Godzilla. This really is an all-or-nothing scenario. Many monsters attack them as they make their way through the city that is clouded by a plethora of red dust. Haberu is in danger, and he flies into the mist with Jet Jaguar, and they are suddenly facing Godzilla that lets off its powers, which sets them off course. Hebura desperately waits for the code, and he loses Jet Jaguar. However, Jet Jauguar gets sent the protocol from Pelops II to make it invincible. It fights Godzilla, announcing itself as “Jet Jaguar PP” — it now knows everything from the beginning and reveals it was woven in the creases of the lullaby and reborn time after time again in order to stop the Catastrophe — the code was with Jet Jaguar the whole time; it is the code. Jet Jaguar says goodbye and explodes, bringing Godzilla down with it.

The Catastrophe is avoided — the world is saved; however, there is a hint that this is where the story starts, especially in the post-credits scene where a mechanical monster is being created and narration that the “present is a changed future.”

Plenty happened in the finale of Godzilla Singular Point, but we are now curious as to where this story will lead. Ideally, more action with Godzilla will be preferable because these were the coolest moments when the monster showed itself. It is a Godzilla story, after all.
