Will there be a Hanna season 4 – renewed or cancelled?
This article discusses whether there will be a season 4 of Hanna and its renewed or canceled status, but it will not contain spoilers.
Sadly for those hoping for more seasons of Hanna, you’re out of luck. The third season will be the end of Hanna! Unbeknown to everyone else, it appears that the plan was always for Hanna to run for only three seasons. Whilst a lot of you might not be celebrating the news, you can be happy that the action thriller will conclude in a manner that will hopefully tell the story it set out to achieve.

The showrunner and also the writer of the 2011 film Hanna, David Farr reveals that the ending of the show after the third season was always his agenda. David Farr has said to EW; “If you look back at when I was talking about the second season, I talked about how it needed a third act. I come from the theatre originally, and I always have had the full act structure in my head to how a piece of drama plays out. And in this case, I felt that there was this very clear arc“.
Further explaining his decision to end the show with its third season, Farr goes on to say; “You’ve got the upbringing of the child Hanna, then you’ve got the adolescent Hanna, and then act 3 is the end of her journey. And each of those parts of the journey involves the discovery of different parts of herself emotionally. It also involves huge discoveries in terms of things she didn’t know and things we didn’t know. And that’s true very much this season. So that’s how I’ve always had it planned“.
So sadly, for those that were hoping otherwise, there will not be a season 4 of Hanna. Instead, audiences will receive the final arc of the Hanna story. It’s probably for the best however as it’s much better for a show to go out on its own terms rather than stretch out the show until very few care.
The final season of Hanna will air on Amazon Prime on 24th November 2021.
