The latest episode of Yellowstone took its time, clearly getting its ducks in a row for the back half of the season, which will likely feature as many explosive developments and violent turns as the first couple of this year’s installments. That gives Yellowstone season 4, episode 6, titled “I Want to Be Him”, plenty to work with, but let’s recap what happened in “Under a Blanket of Red” before we start speculating:

  • Protestors lined up outside Kayce’s office, pouring paint over themselves and throwing rocks around. They were led by Summer Higgins, a new character who John later bailed out of jail so he could take her to the Yellowstone, hopefully so she can understand his point of view (and he hers) a little better.
  • Kayce, Monica, and Tate moved back to the reservation, where some visits to the sweat lodge and a change of scenery seem to have completely cured Tate’s PTSD and healed Monica and Kayce’s relationship.
  • Beth took the job at Market Equities and immediately used her controlling interest in Schwartz & Meyer to fire everyone and move the whole operation to Montana.
  • Lloyd continued to be irrationally angry at Walker.
  • Jimmy learned his first few lessons at the 6666 Ranch.
  • Jamie may or may not have confirmed that Riggins was hired by Garrett to organize the hit on the Duttons, but he was thrown a curveball when he returned home to find Christina and their son waiting for him.

Yellowstone season 4, episode 6 release date

“I Want to Be Him”” will air on December 5, at 8 pm ET on Paramount Network.

How to watch Yellowstone online

As stated above, new episodes of Yellowstone air on the Paramount Network, and are also available to watch online on Paramount’s official website or the Paramount Network app.

Predictions for “I Want to Be Him”

  • I can’t help but think that we’re going to keep returning to Jimmy at the Four Sixes, even though it makes more sense to me just to handle that in the spin-off. I’d like to be wrong about this, but don’t be surprised if the next episode pays him a visit.
  • John will presumably take Summer to the ranch and continue to find middle ground with her, ideologically speaking, but what is her relevant to the wider plot? Higgins is a very similar surname to Riggins, which might be a coincidence, but you can’t take anything for granted.
  • I’m not buying Kayce and Monica’s newfound domestic bliss, and I don’t believe them renting a house on the reservation will fix all their issues. Expect this to only be a short-term solution. Something’s going to go wrong.
  • Speaking of which, how will Beth begin her crusade of ruining Market Equities. And perhaps more to the point, how will John deal with weddings being held at the ranch? It’d be funny to see that coincide with him giving Summer a tour.
  • Lloyd is almost certainly going to try and kill Walker or do something else rash, and I have a feeling that whatever it is will bring about his own demise.
  • What’s Jamie’s next move? Expect him to ponder that in “I Want to Be Him”. Since him being a father seems contingent on him staying away from John and the Yellowstone, will he decide to keep quiet about what Riggins told him?
