Renewed Or Cancelled – Will there be a Yellowstone Season 5?
With the Season 4 finale of Yellowstone having been and gone, audiences will inevitably be wondering what the future of the show is, especially since it didn’t exactly end with a neat and tidy conclusion. On the contrary, Taylor Sheridan’s neo-Western macho melodrama has about as much life left in it as Kevin Costner’s grumbly patriarch John Dutton, and to be honest it seems as if he might live forever. So, with that in mind, and questions about Yellowstone Season 5 on everyone’s lips, let’s try and get to the bottom of where the show stands and when we might see it again.
Renewed or Cancelled — Will there be a Yellowstone Season 5?
As of right now, Paramount have now officially renewed Yellowstone for a fifth season, but that hardly seems a cause for concern. The show is absurdly popular, with the premiere of the latest season drawing insane numbers, and that popularity being sustained virtually all the way through, despite a somewhat meandering season. With a spin-off currently airing in 1883 and another in production in 6666, there’s very little chance that Paramount leaves its flagship show undeveloped.
Beyond this, there’s even more reason to be optimistic. Back in March 2021, Cole Hauser (Rip Wheeler) confirmed during a virtual happy hour with Hall Wines that Sheridan was already working on the fifth season. Deadline also reported that the season is slated to begin production in May 2022, presumably assuming that neither the Covid-19 pandemic nor the production of other shows in the universe delay that. So, it’s just a matter of time.
The first three episodes of the show premiered in June of subsequent years, but thanks to Covid, the fourth season was delayed until late Fall of this year. Given the information above, we can probably expect to see a release of Yellowstone Season 5 in Fall 2022, but we’ll be sure to update this article whenever we learn more.
