Our Beloved Summer is Netflix’s latest romantic-comedy k-drama, this one airing every week on Mondays and Tuesdays. As we’re approaching the end of its freshman 16-episode run, speculation is going to be turning towards a potential continuation. Are we likely to see Our Beloved Summer Season 2? That’s going to depend on several factors, which we’ll outline below. We’ll also continue updating this page with any new information we learn related to the series. Anyway, on to the most important point:

Renewed or Cancelled status – Will there be an Our Beloved Summer Season 2?

Status: TBC.

As of right now, we don’t have any official confirmation of a second season. However, things seem to be looking good for the show. According to Netflix Top 10, Our Beloved Summer accumulated 18.71 million hours of viewing between January 10 and January 16, which is a hefty figure. The show also concerns several peripheral characters, not just the central pairing, all of whom have their own backstories and subplots that could be unpacked in subsequent seasons.

What is the premise of Our Beloved Summer?

Taken from the Wiki, Our Beloved Summer is a coming-of-age romantic comedy that revolves around Choi Ung (Choi Woo-shik) and Kook Yeon-soo (Kim Da-mi), ex-lovers who broke up with a promise to never meet again. As luck would have it, the documentary they filmed ten years ago in high school went viral and they are forced to face the cameras together again by their producer friend.

Basically, the show’s a rom-com about two young people who had a relationship years prior and are forced to navigate the potential of another one when circumstances throw them together. Classic stuff.
