Next Time On… Euphoria season 2, episode 5

The latest episode of Euphoria was a real mess, which may or may not have been intentional. Either way, though, lots of stuff happened, furthering the main plot in a pretty considerable way, so Euphoria season 2, episode 5 will have a lot to unpack. Here’s where things stand:

Euphoria season 2, episode 4 recap:

• In the Rue-Jules-Elliot love triangle, Jules cheated on Rue with Elliot, who told Jules about Rue’s relapse, and Rue may or may not have taken an overdose.
• Cassie’s attempts to torment Nate over him getting back with Maddy backfired spectacularly when she vomited in Maddy’s hot tub.
• Fez may be looking at a murder case.
• Cal came out to his entire family.

The latest episode is slated to air on Sunday, February 7, 2022, at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

New episodes of Euphoria air on HBO every Sunday night, but to watch on live TV, you’ll need a cable package with the premium channel. Likewise, the only place to stream it is on HBO Max with a subscription. An ad-free plan costs $14.99 each month, while a subscription with ads will run you $9.99 each month. Predictions and preview:

Okay, phew. Where might all of this go? Let’s speculate:

• Did Rue take an overdose, or did she reach a crucial moment of realization? Hard to tell.
• Speaking of Rue, has her being mysteriously entrusted which such a bank-breakingly large amount of drugs a roundabout way to get back at Fezco for the whole Mouse thing? This seems likely to me. Nobody would trust Rue to do anything, would they?
• Has Jules just picked Elliot over Rue now, or is she still stinging from the revelation about Rue’s relapse? They have some things to discuss, at the very least.
• There’s virtually no chance that Nate is going to just let Cal smugly walk out of his life without hanging the tape over his head, right?
