The Boys Presents: Diabolical is an animated anthology series perfectly catered to its loyal and fervent fanbase. Produced by Erik Kripke, each episode takes a unique view and uses various animation styles. Each episode is a darkly comedic and thrilling experience. There are eight episodes in the series, and each of them lasts a little over twelve minutes.

So, the question remains, will there be a second season? Or will the streaming series giant, Amazon Prime Video, find its way back to the drawing board?

Will, there be a season 2 of The Boys Presents: Diabolical on Amazon Prime – renewed or canceled status

Status: TBC

There may be some that have it in their heads that animation may be quicker and easier to produce, even more than a standard sitcom or drama series with human actors. However, a network sitcom can be made in a few short weeks. The process is much more — forgive the pun — drawn out for animation. A standard 30-minute animated sitcom can take nine to twelve weeks on average per episode. That means anthology episodes need to plan meticulously. Furthermore, the star power this animated series attracted, from voice actors to writers and directors, is extraordinary. Just look over this list of names: Don Cheadle, Jason Isaacs, Kumail Nanijani, Awkwafina, Seth Rogen, Andy Samberg, Simon Pegg, Michael Cera, and many more.

A show like this could be deemed too costly, but simple subtractions can be made. And make no mistake, The Boys brand is the giant cash cow Prime has in terms of series. (You know, besides getting a thirty-pack of double ply in less than 48 hours). Networks and streaming services do not do anything low-key and are handled with tender loving care. They are going to squeeze every drop of blood out of this series.

This being the second spin-off in the brand’s history, it’s easy to see more being produced. And considering the reputation of Eric Kripke and that everyone wants to work and create under this label, a future season seems almost a given.

Prediction: Look for an announcement for The Boys Presents: Diabolical in the next month to build upon its fanboy potential.
