Omar’s nephew Javi was a chaotic character in part 1 of Ozark season 4. He was unpredictable and dangerous. He was certainly not good for business, which made Marty more nervous. Marty is okay with dangerous people as long as the business makes sense. However, with Javi’s early death in part 2, Ozark needed new dangerous characters that test the strength of the Byrde family while Omar remains in prison. What we learn is that Javi was by no means an accident. There’s a reason for his existence.

Ozark season 4, part 2 – who is Camila Elizonndro?

Camila is Javi’s mother and Omar’s brother. We learn that the reason that Javi had the power he had was because of his mother. She’s the silent strategist in the shadows. Or was. In part 2, she becomes a dangerous adversary for the Byrde family. With Javi dead and Omar in prison, the cartel needs a new family member to maintain its image. Marty and Wendy have to work with Omar’s sister knowing full well she tried to get her brother killed and is also trying to screw up their plans.

While Javi was oddly chaotic, violent, and had quick-decision making, Camila is difficult to read. Marty can see right through her; from hijacking cargo routes to sending out a hit on Omar, Marty knows who he is dealing with. Camila wants her brother to die because she believes he’s responsible for the murder of her son.

But what’s more surprising about the introduction of Camila is how this series seems to be able to ease in new characters without effort. Like Javi, bringing Camila into the most important chapters of the series seems like a high-risk strategy, but the writing and directing make it feel like she was there all this time. Camila is a genuine introduction to the series. While we don’t want to spoil much more than we already have, she’s an actual test to the Byrde family due to her silence and unpredictability.
