This article discusses whether there will be a season 3 of the Netflix Brazillian series Brotherhood and its renewed or cancelled status.
After almost a three-year break, the Brazillian series Brotherhood returned to the streaming service with a trimmed-down, six-chapter series.
Considering the first season landed on the streaming service in 2019, the state of play looks precisely the same. The lawyer and brother of Edison, Cristina Ferreira (played by Naruna Costa), is on the outskirts, dabbling with where her loyalties lie. In contrast, Darlene (played by Hermila Guedes), the wife of Edison, wants to kill her — “rats are rats.” Meanwhile, inside the prison, Edison (played by Seu Jorge), the leader of a rising criminal faction, is bringing a new revolution forward, but there’s a new warden in town, and he is much less forgiving.
We gave season 2 a favourable review:
“With an enthusiastic and energetic cast, the second season of this Brazillian series deserves as many watch-hours as it gets.”
Will there be a season 3 of the Netflix Brazillian series Brotherhood – renewed or cancelled status
Status: TBC/ currently not renewed.
At this moment in time, there is no news on whether there will be a third season of Brotherhood. And to be fair to the fans, we do not want to encourage the possibility there might be one, considering the gap between season 1 and season 2. The series clearly has the right viewership, but whether or not that will convince Netflix to put their money into the series is a different question. In our opinion, there are a lot of stories to be told in this series, and it would be quite a shame if it ended after season 2.
Either way, we will keep you updated on any news here at Ready Steady Cut. In the meantime, you can watch this series with a subscription to Netflix.
