The soapy twists are truly making Now and Then a wild watch. It’s thrilling, it has decent characters, and it has a story worthy of our time. Here is what happened in the fifth episode:

  • Flora reveals that her brother committed suicide after being imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit. As it was “rich kids” who framed him, Flora becomes adamant that she will prove that there is more to this car crash.
  • It’s revealed that Jessica didn’t die from injuries due to the car crash. Instead, someone murdered her.
  • Flora successfully bugs Marcos’s house, although after learning that Daniela was being blackmailed, she rules him out as being a suspect in Daniela’s death.
  • Whilst heavily drunk, Hugo calls Flora moments before he crashes.

Of course, there was a lot to unpack in the first three episodes of Now and Then. And therefore, there are many paths that the show could take. Here are a few predictions:

  • Sofia will betray everyone and anyone to save her own skin.
  • Although that ending suggests that Sofia has the most motive to kill Daniela, I’m going to predict that Pedro is the one who murdered her.
  • Right now, I’m still siding more with the gang of college friends (except Sofia). And as I feel that the series is heading towards all of them being ruined/exposed, I’m hoping that there’ll be further twists that will completely alienate, or at the very least, make their downfall feel truly earned.
  • Hugo will survive, but as I predicted above, I do not think he killed Daniela.
  • Pedro will have to choose between sticking by Ana or helping Ernesto prove his innocence.

You can watch this series with a subscription to Apple TV+.
