This article discusses whether there will be season 2 of the Netflix series Two Summers season 2 and its renewed or cancelled status.

On June 3rd, 2022, Netflix released Two Summers, a highly-charged drama with promise, however, at Ready Steady Cut, we did not give it a favourable review:Two Summers feels surface-level, rather than peeling away at the characters to bring the unspoken truth.”

Here is the premise:

The story begins aggressively; Peter receives a video of him and his male friends raping a woman from thirty years ago at an alcohol-fuelled party. The men decided to delete the tape, but three decades later, the video has somehow resurfaced. The video comes with a threat; pay the sender a significant amount of bitcoin, or it will be made public. The video comes at an opportune time; Peter is about to enjoy a vacation with the same group of friends from thirty years ago, including the woman who was raped. Apparently, she does not remember that heinous event.

And so predictably, Two Summers floats between two timelines, the present, and the past, showing the younger and older selves of the characters. The past can catch up to you, and the Netflix series presents the idea well.

Will there be a season 2 of Netflix’s Two Summers – renewed or cancelled status

Status: TBC/ Not renewed

At this moment in time, Two Summers has not been renewed for a second season, but maybe it’s too early to speculate at the moment. With Netflix remodeling their business on release slates, it would not be surprising if we heard some news relatively soon on the status of this series (possibly in a month’s time). However, with season 1 feeling conclusive, it would feel surprising if the story was continued. So with that being said, we predict that this series will not be renewed.

At Ready Steady Cut, we’ll keep you informed on any news.
