“Error” begins to feel very repetitive as basic communication skills once again prove the central couple’s undoing.
This recap of Welcome to Wedding Hell season 1, episode 7, “Error”, contains spoilers.
Errors often cascade; one bad decision becomes two, becomes three, all often trying to rectify that first mistake instead of owning it. The same is true in all walks of life (the opening makes a reference to the phenomenon in baseball) and the outcome is usually the same. Lessons have to be learned. A change has to be made.
Welcome to Wedding Hell season 1, episode 7 recap
Meanwhile, in “Error”, everyone is still smarting from the total cost of Jun-hyeong’s family’s wedding gifts. Hui-seon ran the numbers. Na-eun is trying to compensate with a luxury watch, even though the specific model she’s looking for isn’t even in stock. There are some crossed wires here. Jun-hyeong realizes she’s trying to do something special for him, so tries to help by securing a different model from the same brand, which only makes Na-eun miserable. He hasn’t yet learned the most important lesson of marriage – happy wife, happy life.
It takes ages for Jun-hyeong to realize what Na-eun’s problem is, and even then only when it’s explained to him. Initially, it seems like she’s annoyed about him having selected a more expensive model, which I suppose tracks with what we’ve seen already, but that isn’t it. It’s her efforts being undermined, the moment having been essentially stolen from her.
If Jun-hyeong and Na-eun are good at one thing, at least, it’s making up. It just takes them a while to get there.
As ever, it’s a complete lack of communication that leads to this predicament, and also, as usual, it’s easily solved once both parties open up to one another. While this might have a grain of truth to it, it doesn’t exactly work as the hook for every episode. But does Welcome to Wedding Hell have any other ideas up its sleeve?
I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
