This article discusses whether season 3 will be the final season of Love, Victor and its renewed or cancelled status. This article contains spoilers.

Love, Victor is a teen drama set in the same universe as the 2018 movie Love, Simon. The series is inspired by that film, which itself was an adaptation of a young adult novel titled Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda. The lead actor from Love, Simon (Nick Robinson) even narrates part of the show, reprising his role as Simon Spier. This successful Hulu original returned for a third season in June of this year, focusing on the titular character, as he takes a journey of self-discovery, trying different forms of dating and continuing to learn to fully accept himself for who he is. It’s a considerately made series that addresses important social issues and brings integral representation to all sexual orientations.

The third season follows our lovable lead and the cast of characters from Creekwood High School once again. This time around, Mia contemplates her future with Andrew, whilst her best friend Lake starts to date Lucy. Felix and Pilar become an item and Rahim re-enters the dating world, after Victor’s rejection. Victor, who chose Benji, struggles with his boyfriend’s drinking problem and pretty soon Benji is whisked off to rehab. Victor returns to the dating game once more, with varying degrees of success. It’s an excellent series filled with laughs, tears and an abundance of sass. Fans will not be disappointed.

Will season 3 be the final season of Love, Victor – renewed or cancelled status

Status: Cancelled

Unfortunately, this will be the third and final season of Love, Victor, which we shall say has now been completed rather than untimely canceled. The news comes from Hulu themselves, who haven’t expressed an exact reason for ending the critically acclaimed drama, other than explaining the obvious limits of the high school structure. Senior year signals the end of high school and with the cast coming to the end of their Creekwood experience, the writers appear happy to bring the show to an ‘organic conclusion’.

The finale provided ample resolution and fitting closure to all its main players, with all cast members happily paired off and excitedly looking forwards to their futures. Victor chose Benji at the end of season two and even though there are many obstacles in their way, season three ends in very much the same way, although it is Benji who chooses Victor. It’s a satisfying end to an innovative and boundary-pushing show. I don’t think fans can ask for more than that, surely?
