Only Murders in the Building is back and those first two installments of the new season really did pack a punch. Our podcast trio of Mabel, Charles, and Oliver return as celebrities after solving the murder case at the end of season one. Now they must clear their names, having been framed for the murder of Bunny Folger. Here’s what happened in episode two of Only Murders in the Building:
- The trio analyzes the erotic painting left in Charles’ flat in more detail, debating the ramifications of this unfortunate event. On the back of the canvas is the name ‘Savage’, which is Charles’ surname.
- Mabel explains that Bunny’s final words were ‘fourteen’ and ‘Savage’. It all seems to be pointing in Charles’ direction and then there is a knock at the door.
- Howard comes to invite them to Bunny’s apartment for what appears to be a makeshift wake. Meanwhile, Oliver and Mabel try to hide the painting.
- Nina Lin is announced as the new Board President and Howard tells the trio that she is a nasty piece of work.
- Bunny’s mother arrives to claim the pricey painting, which has now gone missing. Charles distracts the old lady, while Mabel and Oliver take the painting to the bins. Charles accidentally locks the door on himself and they have to leave the painting there, instead of taking it up the secret elevator like they had planned. Later, Amy finds this painting and claims it as her own.
- Mabel pays Alice a visit. The artist was inspired by Mabel and made a piece of artwork for her. She tells Mabel to destroy the work with an axe and then they make out.
- Amy and Oliver discuss a dramatization of the podcast. She wants to play Jan and then secretly goes into character as the villain. Amy states that she won’t sign a deal with Oliver until they find Bunny’s killer.
- Oliver informs the gang that Amy has the painting in her apartment and they head to hers to retrieve it.
- Bunny’s mother realizes it is a fake. She then tells Charles that she had an affair with his father.
- Oliver is given Bunny’s pet bird in the will and the bird says ‘I know who did it.’

- Mabel and Alice’s relationship will grow, bringing a new lease of life to the artist.
- Amy Schumer will stay in character as Jan, leading to some confusing but hilarious situations.
