This article discusses whether there will be a season 3 of the Hulu series Only Murders in the Building and its renewed or canceled status. This article doesn’t contain any major spoilers about the current season.
Only Murders in the Building is the critically acclaimed murder mystery series from comedy legend Steve Martin and co-creator John Hoffman (Grace and Frankie). The show follows our lovable lead trio of true crime enthusiasts as they attempt to solve murder investigations that specifically took place in their own apartment building, whilst podcasting about their findings as amateur sleuths in real-time. The famous threesome include has-been actor Charles (Steve Martin), kooky theatre director Oliver Putnam (Martin Short), and the ever-sassy Mabel played by Selena Gomez.
In season two the triumphant trio finds themselves persons of interest in the murder of Arconia board director Bunny Folger, who died in the first season’s finale. They must prove their innocence and capture the killer before it is too late. Although this mischievous murderer has a penchant for framing the podcast celebrities, with Mabel starting the season as the prime suspect and poor Charles finding incriminating evidence around his apartment. Will there be a season 3 of the Hulu series Only Murders in the Building – renewed or cancelled status
Even with only three episodes of the second season released so far this year, Hulu has decided to renew the much-loved original for a third outing. This is great news for all you lucky fans out there, who get to see Charles, Oliver, and Mabel fight crime again for another madcap ten-episode run. We’re yet to discover how the second season ends, but I’m sure this famous trio will be back to solve another case and battle rival podcaster Cinda Canning (Tina Fey) for the top spot sometime next year.
The series was always onto a winner with its tantalizing premise and star-studded cast. The second season added even more screen talent, introducing fresh, new characters along the way. Hollywood A-listers will surely be queuing up for an appearance in the hotly anticipated third season. It is yet unclear what that season will focus on, but it is likely to continue the trio’s haphazard story and will most definitely follow a similar style. This is after all a deftly written, hilarious whodunit that shows no signs of waning.
