Sheila faces her demons in another stellar episode of the Apple Original. She must admit her faults and open up to her transgressions at rehab, while Danny contemplates divorce. Here’s what happened in episode nine of Physical:
- After two weeks at the retreat, Sheila believes she has put in enough work and feels ready to leave. The group members call her out on her lies and the counsellor manipulates her into staying.
- Sheila starts to question her priorities, should she focus on her mental health or the business. In the end she chooses to stay at the rehab treatment.
- During a mindful eating session she loses it and storms off.
- Danny and Maya visit. Her husband is angry with all her lies and seems to have given in with their marriage. He tells Maya she can have a pet dog. Danny may hate Sheila, but he is actually proud his wife is trying to improve.
- The therapy members discover Sheila’s workout video tape and call her out on her contradictory lifestyle. They say she is a fraud, a fox in the henhouse.
- At therapy, Sheila talks about Maya visiting, but the counsellor asks her to say what’s truly on her mind. Sheila rants about all the members and says some nasty things. The group are actually happy she finally spoke honestly and welcome her to the treatment.
- Sheila starts to really engage with the process and opens up more.
- During a couple’s therapy session, Danny mentions having a job interview and seems to have accepted the end of his marriage.
- Sheila questions her next move at night, but overhears the counsellor throwing up in a toilet. She points this out and the counsellor says she’s still recovering herself. This was a back slide on her road to recovery.
- Greta picks Sheila up at the end of her treatment course. Sheila apologizes and says she might be done with her business venture for good. Greta says don’t give up and shows her a car boot full of letters from fans.

- In the finale, Sheila will begin to record her follow-up fitness video, but disaster will strike. I imagine that a therapy member or some other enemy will let the world know about Sheila’s eating disorder and ruin her plans.
- Greta will ask to invest in Sheila’s new business again and their friendship will be reborn.
- Danny will ask for a divorce and start a new job far from their home.
- Maya will be moved from one home to the next, but Sheila will struggle to find time for her daughter.
- John Breem is sure to come back on the scene, maybe wanting to reignite his affair with Sheila after all.
