This article discusses the potential of Evil Season 4 and its renewed or cancelled status. It may contain spoilers.

Paramount+’s Evil is perhaps the most slept-on show airing right now. Despite being in its third season, the show doesn’t dominate office water cooler conversations as much as it should, with its particular blend of horror, religion, politics, and philosophy providing a fascinating and engaging hook, especially since its two principal characters — a forensic psychologist and a priest — are on completely opposite ends of the belief spectrum. That open-minded approach to belief and disbelief helps to create one of the more engaging relationships on television, and it has kept audiences thoroughly engaged thus far — among many other of the show’s positive qualities.

Anyway, here’s everything we know about its future:

Renewed or Cancelled status – Will there be an Evil Season 4?

Status: Renewed!

Yes, Paramount+ have already renewed Evil for a fourth season. In the words of the platforms’s president of original scripted series, Nicole Clemens, “We couldn’t be more excited to be terrified by what Robert and Michelle [King] create for season four with our outstanding cast bringing it to life.”

This isn’t surprising. The show has a very passionate fanbase, but more than that it represents a very original arrow in the quiver of a streaming network that needs some of those in the ongoing Streaming Wars. High-quality original content is what streaming services live or die on, especially in their infancy, and with stuff like Halo thoroughly dividing audiences despite a considerable amount of money being flung at it, dependable stuff without an established crossover viewership to annoy is a pretty safe bet for Paramount at this stage. And more power to Evil, since it’s genuinely great.

We don’t have any word on a release date yet, but given that the third season is still underway, I’d suggest late 2023 as a minimum, but 2024 as a more likely estimate.

What is Evil?

Per IMDb:

A skeptical clinical psychologist joins a priest-in-training and a blue-collar contractor as they investigate supposed abnormal events, including, demonic possession, and other extraordinary occurrences to see if there’s a scientific explanation or if something truly supernatural’s at work.
