This article discusses the Prime Video film Samaritan, including information about the release date, premise, cast, production, and other details.

While Prime Video has had a ton of success entering the TV space, I still think they are struggling in the original movie area. However, it doesn’t stop them from trying, including the release of Samaritan, a superhero-ish-style movie starring Sylvester Stallone.

Will we see another fun addition to the superhero film space? Here’s everything we know about the Prime Video film Samaritan.

Samaritan release date

The Samaritan is due to debut on Prime Video on August 26, 2022.

Samaritan premise

Courtesy of Prime Video, thirteen-year-old Sam Cleary (Javon Walton) suspects that his mysterious and reclusive neighbor Mr. Smith (Sylvester Stallone) is actually a legend hiding in plain sight. Twenty-five years ago, Granite City’s vigilante, Samaritan, was reported dead after a battle with his rival, Nemesis. Everyone thought he was left for dead, but a few people including Sam hoped he was still alive.

Our opinion of the premise

I don’t hate the premise, but I am also unsure how I feel about the film. However, I will say that Prime Video has done a great job with The Boys, which mixes in the world of superheroes, so I am hoping they may put some strong energy into this movie. And honestly, Stallone can still kick a*s and take names at his age, and I will buy it.

Is there a soundtrack?

As of right now, no, there is not a soundtrack for this movie.

Is there a trailer for Samaritan?

Yes! Here it is:

The trailer sets the entire film’s tone and maybe gives a little more away than I would hope. We see how Samaritan get’s exposed by Sam in proving that he is right about who he is, which I didn’t like. Next, we see the stakes as the entire city is in shambles with crime. Last, we already see our villain know who he is. I didn’t love seeing all of this unfold in the trailer. With all that being said, I am holding out (for a hero) hope this one will be good.
