This article discusses the upcoming Netflix series Mo, including the premise, cast and crew, release date, trailer, and more.

Mo is one of the newest shows from Netflix and is one of the first scripted shows the streaming service has alongside A24. A24 has long been one of the more interesting film distributors of recent years, distributing more eccentric and experimental films, and their TV, HBO’s Euphoria, for example, has matched. The pairing is one that Netflix could use if it wants its television branch to reach the highs of HBO, and Mo could be just the start of that.

Netflix series Mo premise

From Netflix: “Mo Najjar straddles the line between two cultures, three languages, and a ton of bullshit as a Palestinian refugee constantly living one step away from the asylum on the path to U.S. citizenship. His family — including his resilient and spiritual mother, sister, and older brother — flee to Houston, Texas. Laughing the pain away, Mo learns to adapt to his new world though getting ahead in life comes with several setbacks.”

Our thoughts on the premise

The idea behind Mo definitely piques our interest. It seems as though this show will tell a more diverse story in a comedic way. Co-creator Ramy Youssef also raises interest as he has been one of the top up-and-coming television stars recently.

Mo Netflix trailer

You can find the trailer for Mo below.

This trailer shows the comedy side of Mo and how this show might use comedy to display some of the issues still plaguing America and refugees. It feels different than what you might expect from an A24 production, but knowing how they do things, this show is likely going to have a lot of heart and drama mixed in with the comedy.
