This article discusses 5 series like Untold: Volume 2 and may contain spoilers.

Netflix’s Untold: Volume 2 is now playing on Netflix. Here is a list of five similar series, for you to check out if you need more investigative, narrative-driven story-telling. It might be cheating to say the first series of Untold, but if you haven’t seen it, It is definitely one to add to your list.

5 Series Like Untold: Volume 2 You Must Watch.

Bad Sport

If you’re watching Untold because you’re a sports fan, then Bad Sport is the next one for you. This six-part documentary series is another example of where true crime meets the world of sports. Each episode examines global controversies and scandals, giving intimate and honest first-hand accounts of those involved.

The Men Who Sold the World Cup

The world of sports is massive, and in that, there are more scandals than we can imagine. Here this documentary hits home to all football fans, as The Men Who Sold the World Cup is a documentary about how the people behind FIFA sold the world cup to Qatar, for them to host in 2022. Filled with bribery, corruption, global politics, dirty politics and practices, and especially greed, this series is one I think we’ll see more of in the near future. Maybe something Untold might have their eyes on for a potential Untold: Volume 3

The Puppet Master: Hunting the Ultimate Conman

Untold: Volume 2 had serious investigative skills involved, unraveling stories to find the truth, and if this is what you’re interested in, not necessarily watching for the theme of sports, I recommend heading straight to true crime documentaries. The Puppet Master is a harrowing docuseries where we follow a cruel conman, who masqueraded as a British spy to manipulate and steal from his victims. Almost too insane and wild to be true, we’re also given first-class accounts from the victims and investigators on the case.

Captive Audience: A Real American Horror Story

This documentary series surrounds the 1972 kidnapping of seven-year-old Steven Stayner and his family. Delving into the family’s 50-year journey, unraveling a tale of two brothers, who is seen as a hero and one as a villain. Similar to Untold, this series is here to investigate, unravel, decode and bring together all information to present to audiences a narrative-driven story. This is something, again, if you’re watching for the unraveling of crime but want a different theme to sports.

Man in the Arena: Tom Brady

The 2021 docu-series showcases NFL star Tom Brady, who across the series reminisces and gives a first-hand account of his NFL career. Each episode in this series explores pivotal moments in Brady’s life both on and off the field.  Just like Untold, we have masculine sports players giving open, honest, vulnerable interviews, letting audiences see a different side to them and an insight into their views, perspectives, opinions, and how they live their life.
