Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s maligned horror anthology American Horror Stories is back for a second season, presumably hoping to turn the first outing’s negative reception around. A spin-off from the wildly popular but only occasionally good American Horror Story, the idea behind these collections was to tell interesting and ideally scary stories that had some connection to the overarching mythology but weren’t as overburdened by it as the main series has become. And it failed, more or less, with only a handful of passable episodes and a lot of really terrible ones. But the IP still carries a fair amount of pop-cultural weight, hence the renewal and the second outing, which debuted on July 21, 2022, with an episode tying back — probably not coincidentally — to the main series’s most popular season, “Coven”.
Despite any quibbles about quality, the show will no doubt be popular, and its fans will likely be looking for information about the next episode. So, here’s everything we know:
American Horror Stories season 2, episode 6 release date/time
The latest episode is slated to air on Thursday, August 25, at 3 a.m. ET / 12 a.m. PT. We don’t anticipate any changes to the schedule, although this is sometimes a possibility.

How many episodes will the series have?
The second season of American Horror Stories looks to have nine episodes, which is two more than the first season, airing between July 21 and September 15.
Who is in American Horror Stories Season 2?
Since the series is an anthology, the core cast will change between episodes. The big selling point of American Horror Story is recasting the same actors in new roles and settings, but that isn’t really something that this anthology series has dabbled with. However, the marketing has already emphasised the return of some recognisable characters from previous seasons of the main show, including Dennis O’Hare in the first episode, Cody Fern, and Gabourey Sidibe.
