This article discusses (or speculates) whether there will be season 2 of the Netflix series Devil in Ohio and its renewed or cancelled status.

On September 2nd, 2022, Netflix released the horror thriller Devil in Ohio.

Devil in Ohio follows psychiatrist Dr. Suzanne Mathis (played by Emily Deschanel – Animal Kingdom), who shelters an intriguing cult escapee named Mae (played by Madeleine Arthur – To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before), which threatens the safety of her family. Her husband, Peter (played by Sam Jaeger – The Handmaid’s Tale), is a property developer with a failing business. The family is relatively ordinary, but their world is turned upside with the introduction of Mae. The story comes with mystery and light horror as the world of satanic symbolism, and religious imagery becomes a terrifying concept.

At Ready Steady Cut, we gave the series a favorable review despite the surface-level feel to it: “The series makes you feel like you will experience a story like Servant, but instead, you get a run-of-a-miller thriller horror.”

Will there be a season 2 of the Netflix series Devil in Ohio – renewed or cancelled status

Status: cancelled/not renewed

As we write this article, the series has not been renewed, which is not unusual for Netflix as they always take their time to make a strategic decision.

With Netflix remodeling their business on release slates, it would not be surprising if we heard some news relatively soon on the status of this series (possibly in a month’s time). Netflix tends to look out for watch hours, so let’s hope the series gets enough to justify a continuation.

However, this has been slated as a “limited release,” and with Netflix sticking to its guns with The Queen’s Gambit and The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Windowwe feel it is unlikely they will take an exception with Devil in Ohio.

Of course, we will keep you updated at Ready Steady Cut, but with this series based on a book too, we feel it is unlikely there will be news. Plus, the ending was conclusive.

You can watch this series with a subscription to Netflix.
